Medical Care and Support for Patients and Families

At the Ridley-Tree Cancer Center, we are committed to providing you with every healing opportunity for a successful return to the activities that enrich your life.

Our doctors are specialists in the treatment of cancer, and comprehensive care is at the heart of all we do. Our advanced technology allows patients to be treated in a comfortable and familiar environment here in our community. Our highly trained and devoted medical personnel acquire the latest technology and treatment protocols, integrate oncology supportive programs and provide every opportunity for successful treatment and optimal recovery for our patients.

Our Medical Oncology & Hematology department provides the latest chemotherapy treatment with on-site participation in leading-edge national cancer research trials. And our Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine departments use state-of-the-art technology to precisely target and treat cancer.

In addition, our Breast Care team is dedicated to bringing together the area’s best physicians, clinical staff, and treatment options to care for our patients diagnosed with breast cancer.

Our medical departments are complemented by robust clinical support services including Patient Navigation, Genetic Counseling, Oncology Nutrition Services and an advanced Clinical Research program which provides patients with access to a wide variety of clinical trials.

Our Oncology Supportive Care Programs take an integrative approach to cancer care by focusing on the whole person – body, mind, and spirit. Patients can integrate complementary therapies such as yoga, nutrition, and healing touch with traditional cancer care to reduce stress, improve treatment tolerance or enhance recovery. A wide range of exercise, stress management, creative arts, information and support resources are available to patients and their families.

In addition to providing medical care, we are committed to helping people with the emotional and practical aspects of a cancer diagnosis. Our Oncology Social Work Services Program offers a wide range of logistical assistance and resources for patients, family members and friends. Transportation to treatments, financial assistance and help with legal and insurance challenges are but a few of the available services.

Maintaining our long-standing commitment to education is made possible by our Cancer Resource Library, a comfortable place to review print and electronic cancer resources available free-of-charge to patients, families, community members and healthcare professionals.

Personalized Care

The Ridley-Tree Cancer Center is committed to a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of cancer and to the care of cancer patients. Treatment plans are designed for the specific medical, psychological, social and logistical needs of each patient. Our Medical and Radiation Oncologists meet regularly with their colleagues from Pathology, Radiology, Surgery, Clinical Research and Genetic Counseling to engage in meaningful discussion with a goal of developing the best treatment plan for each patient. At these meetings, patients benefit from the collective knowledge of multiple professionals, all experts in specific areas. In complex cases, or at a patient’s request, the team may suggest a referral to a respected colleague in a nearby city for treatment. If so, the Cancer Center will handle the logistics of the referral to expedite the process and reduce stress for patients and families.
